About the Spouse Visa

To obtain a mid-to-long-term residency status (Spouse Visa) after marrying a foreign national, you must navigate marriage procedures that vary by nationality. Furthermore, the applicants themselves must prove the "authenticity of the marriage" and the "ability to maintain a stable livelihood." Our office provides meticulous support in organizing your individual circumstances through an initial hearing and preparing the necessary documentation to meet the examination requirements.

As my wife is Mexican, I understand firsthand the complexity and stress of these procedures. If you prefer, consultations are available in Spanish and English, as well as Japanese. I encourage you to come and consult with me together with your partner.

Key Services:

  • Consultations on Spouse Visa applications and renewals (Available in English & Spanish).
  • Organizing required documents and preparing materials tailored to your specific situation.
  • Advice on drafting the "Questionnaire" (Explanatory Statement) and other critical documents.

About the Permanent Residence Visa

By obtaining Permanent Resident status, you will be freed from restrictions on your period of stay and types of activities, allowing you to plan a stable life within the scope of Japanese law. However, applying for permanent residency requires a vast amount of documentation, and the practical burden—such as verifying the consistency of submitted materials—is significant. We are here to help if you are unsure which documents are necessary or if you need guidance on re-applying after a previous denial.

We provide consistent, end-to-end support, from identifying the optimal timing for your application to organizing and preparing documents tailored to your unique situation. We offer practical and strategic support to help you successfully obtain your permanent residency.

Key Services:

  • Pre-application Consultation: Assessing your eligibility and readiness for permanent residency.
  • Re-application Support: Analyzing reasons for previous denials and developing a strategy for success.
  • Full Application Service: Supporting document collection and preparing the entire application package on your behalf.

About the Work Visa

The type of "Status of Residence for Employment" (commonly known as a Work Visa) is determined by the alignment between the applicant's educational/professional background and the specific duties they will perform in Japan. For example, the most common visa for white-collar roles is "Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services." Each visa category has specific examination requirements that must be objectively proven through supporting documents. If these requirements are not met, the application will be denied.

Illegal employment carries serious risks; not only the individual but also the employing company can be held criminally liable. Our office provides comprehensive support, from verifying legal compliance before hiring to handling applications, changes, and renewals. We assist both foreigners and companies in building a proper and lawful employment structure.

Key Services:

  • Certificate of Eligibility (COE): Support for inviting employees from overseas.
  • Change of Status: Transitioning from "Student" to "Work" visa, etc.
  • Compliance Checks for Employers: Verifying hiring schemes and providing documentation support for companies.

For Eastern Hokkaido

About Technical Intern & Specified Skilled Worker Visas

In the Eastern Hokkaido region, where dairy farming and fisheries are the lifeblood of the economy, foreign staff have become an essential part of the workforce. However, navigating the complex "Technical Intern Training" system or transitioning to the "Specified Skilled Worker" status—which expects immediate contribution—requires vast documentation and strict legal compliance. Our office provides more than just visa application support; we offer practical guidance to ensure your operations continue smoothly and legally.

Our Unique Strength: Bridging the Communication Gap

With my extensive background in Japanese language education, my strength lies in offering support that goes beyond "just getting the visa." We provide advice on smoothing workplace communication and offer tailored Japanese language learning opportunities. We are committed to working closely with businesses in Betsukai and the wider Eastern Hokkaido area to fully back the continued success of our local industries—the true treasures of our community.

Key Services:

  • Technical Intern Consultation: Supporting the intake process and coordination with supervising organizations.
  • Visa Procedures: Preparing all applications, changes, and renewals for residency status.
  • Retention Support: Designing support systems for Japanese language and daily life to help foreign talent settle into the local community.

About our Japanese Language Services

For Technical Interns and Specified Skilled Workers to work safely and effectively in Japan over the long term, overcoming the "language barrier" is essential. Our office supports you in building not only the legal foundation through visa procedures but also the communication foundation through dedicated Japanese language education.

After completing a 420-hour Advanced Japanese Teacher Training Course, I served for approximately three years as the Director of the Japanese Language Department at the Japan Foundation in Spain. The Japan Foundation is the very organization that organizes the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT). Leveraging the expertise gained at this global standard of education, we help students master "practical, living Japanese" that goes beyond simple memorization and can be used immediately in the workplace.

Key Services:

  • Workplace-Focused Lessons: Providing Japanese lessons designed to improve safety and efficiency on-site.
  • JLPT Preparation: Guidance and curriculum development aimed at passing the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
  • Cultural Events: Organizing Japanese cultural exchange events (including online sessions).

About Our Other Services

While our office specializes in international support, we are also dedicated to being your "neighborhood legal expert." We provide sincere support for various everyday challenges, including complex subsidy applications, large-scale agricultural management, inheritance procedures across generations, and essential vehicle-related paperwork.

We strive to ensure that everyone in the Eastern Hokkaido region, centered around Betsukai, can live with peace of mind. Even if you are unsure whether your concern is something a Scrivener can handle, please feel free to reach out to us first.

Key Services:

  • Subsidy & Grant Support: Assistance with various government subsidies and business grants.
  • Inheritance Services: Consulting and document preparation for inheritance and succession.
  • Vehicle Procedures: Handling "Shako Shomei" (Parking Space Certificates) and other automotive paperwork.
